Indonesian Travel Agent Association (Asita) calls on the Government to maximize support for travel agency to accelerate the addition of tourist visits to Indonesia.
“Support to the travel agency in Indonesia is still far below the government in foreign countries such as Malaysia and Singapore,” said Chairman of the DPP Asita, Asnawi Bahar in sidelines of the second National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of Asita, in Medan on Sunday.
According to Asnawi, the support ranging from development and improvement of infrastructure, promotion and facility for a variety of licensing.
Travel agency entrepreneurs, he said, need to be helped given the fact that Indonesia tourist arrivals up to six million from this year target of eight to nine million people, more than 60 percent is supplied by travel agencies in the country, which is up to 6.500 agents.
“Abroad, the travel agency support including assistance on promotional costs because it is considered helping the government gets revenue from the arrival of tourists,” he said.
