Death Sentence For Drug Convict Lindsay June Upheld

JAKARTA

The Supreme Court turned down an appeal from Lindsay June Sandiford (56) of Britain.  Sandiford was previously sentenced to death by a district court after being charged with possession of 3.7 kilograms of cocaine.

The Supreme Court’s presiding Judge ArtidjoAlkostar said that an earlier appeal was already rejected by the Denpasar high court because Sandiford falls into a category for narcotics importers.

The other appeals involved with the same case for Julian Anthony Ponder, Paul Beales and Rachel Lisa Dougall, were sentenced to six years, four years and one year respectively.
