PARIS ~ A high-ranking French cop found himself in a sticky situation after being caught walking out of a swank French department store without having paid for two boxes of chocolates, Le Parisien said.
The gendarmerie colonel was detained as he left the Le Bon Marche with the chocolates worth 61 euros (US$90).
He was taken to the local police station for questioning before being released pending a hearing, the newspaper reported.
