Wined at Warisan

A truly French affair was held last week at Kafe Warisan with a special wine dinner from the world-famous Chateau Beychevelle in the Saint Julien region. By special invite-only, a limited number of guests were treated to canapés and wine with Chateau Beychevelle’s Philippe Blanc at the bar before being seated to a wonderful four-course meal in traditional Warisan style. On the menu was a Prawn Scallop and Crab Tempura served with a Veuve Du Vernay, Blanc de Blanc, Oxtail and Crepe Mushroom Ravioli with a ’98 Chateau Beaumont, Haut Medoc, Duck Tournedo with Asian Sprout and Potato Galett with a ’95 Chateau Beychevelle and a desert of Millefueille of Ginger and Mascapone Ice Cream paired with an Aszu 5 Puttonyos – ’99 Domain Hetszolo. Among the crowd wining and dining were Katie Allender and Andrew McLatchie, Dermot Monohan and society snipper Lusia, The Ritz-Carlton, Bali Resort & Spa’s Troy Clarry and Lohent Leger and Arnot Roger.
