DENPASAR ~ Bali Police have arrested hundreds of suspected gamblers across the island so far this year, spokesman AS Reniban told reporters on Thursday.

In total, 443 suspects were involved in 306 various cases from January to September, he said.

He said most cases of gambling were lotteries, with 249, followed by card gambling at 42 cases, 12 cases of cock fighting and other forms of gambling.

“We will keep arresting gamblers and we will not tolerate any form of gambling,” he said, adding that on average the police can arrest 64 suspected gamblers per month.
