The Denpasar government says it plans to include Rp248 billion (US$26.4 million) in the 2008 budget for the rehabilitation of Bali’s coastlines.

“The Bali-Penida Department of Public Works Ministry has proposed Rp248 billion to finance the protection of Bali’s coasts. Hopefully, the central government will be able to accommodate the proposal,” said Nyoman Ray Yusha of the Public Works Ministry.

Yusha said the money would also be spent on rivers in Bali.
