What can be done to improve Bali’s image?

We must improve the infrastructure, especially the roads. Most streets in Bali are not wide enough; motorbikes often cross over the central line. And the dogs – there are always dogs in the road, and that sometimes causes crashes.

Are you satisfied with the current level of security?

For petty crime, yes, but we are still worried about terrorism. We have learned a hard lesson from the bombings and I think the government must never stop fighting the terrorists.

Is the central government doing enough to improve Indonesia?

No. Our population is too big and there is too much unemployment in this country.

What are the challenges that lie ahead?

Improve the environment of Bali. There are too many buildings here, too much development, and that’s bad for Bali.

Where is the hottest spot in Bali right now?

I work at a hotel in Jimbaran. There is a beautiful, unspoiled beach there with almost no tourists. I think that’s the hottest spot in Bali right now.
