Yahoo Profits Dip

SAN FRANCISCO ~ Yahoo profits dipped to US$161 million in the recent quarter as the internet giant continues to lag behind rival Google when it comes to making money.

Yahoo’s overall revenues for the quarter ending June 30, 2007, were $1.24 billion, an 11-percent increase from the same period last year, but it logged $3 million less in profit.

Google, on the other hand, trounced expectations in April, when its profits surged 69 percent to $1 billion in the first three months of the year.
