DENPASAR

Preliminary figures from the 2010 national census last month show Denpasar, Bali’s capital city, is now home to 782,000 people, more than double its population at the last census in 2000.

Census officials say the figure is not yet final, or broken down by gender.

Full census results won’t be available for some months.
