JIMBARAN ~ An active World War II bomb was discovered in the grounds of a home of a local man as he was digging land to construct a septic tank.

Local resident Iskandar Haijah was digging at his house on Jl. Toya Ning in Kedonganan on Sunday when he came across the aircraft-mounted device, weighing some 100 kilograms and two meters in length, he said.

Haijah called police to the scene, who said it was a mortar bomb used by the Japanese during the Second World War, he added.
