Malaysia Labour Scam Man Sought in Bali

SINGARAJA

Buleleng detectives are searching for a Malaysian national, named as M. Haris, 33, of Jl Jambu, Singaraja, after a complaint that 10 men were duped into paying him to arrange work for them in Malaysia but finding on arrival there that nothing had been organised.

The complaint alleges that men from Buleleng, Tabanan and Gianyar had been defrauded after being recruited through an overseas labour office operating at Pemaron.

“In handling this case investigators are still focused on questioning the victims, but that does not mean there may be additional suspects,” Buleleng Police spokesman I Made Sudirsa said.

The 10 complainants are: Putu Riky Kristiawan, 27; Ida Bagus Citarsa, 39; Arya Komang Sujana, 27; Kadek Suarnawan, 27; Dewa Gede Umayana, 22; Made Sumawan, 25; Komang Eka, 25; Ketut Arya Wijaya, 28; Ari Made Yasa, 40; and Gede Artawa, 25.

The men returned to Bali after their families sent money to pay for their tickets.
